Hi! I’m Emily Robinson. I’m a Family Law Attorney and I practise in Westlake Village, California and Woodland Hills, California. I wanted to talk about consultations with an attorney. I offer free consultation so that I can meet with you, and you can meet me. And we can discuss the issues in your case, and I can see if it is something that I can help you with.

Purpose of Initial Divorce Consultation

The purpose of a consultation is just that – to make sure we are a good fit, and that I’ll be able to help you with your case. And that you’d be able to feel comfortable with the representation. I always recommend that you consult with a few attorneys to make sure you make a good choice for yourself and for your case and for your family.

To a consultation, you want to bring:

  • Any documents that you’ve already filed;
  • Pleadings that have already been filed into your case
  • You may want to bring financial information if finances are an issue.
  • You definitely want to bring a list of all of your questions; and anything that you think you want answered in the first session.

But most importantly, you just want to bring your story so you can share with me what’s going on in your case; what’s going on in your life, and what you think I can help you with.

If you have any questions on this topic, you can contact me at (805) 497-7474 or go to my video blog about Divorce and Family Law in Westlake Village, California.  You may also send me an inquiry here.
